CHarming Imp

Charming_imp_detail.png

The charming imp is a pocket slot item that collects charms before they drop on the ground, putting them instantly in your inventory. This item requires level 21 Summoning, 21 Dungeoneering and 100,000 Dungeoneering tokens to purchase. Unlike the weaponry, destroying this item does not refund any tokens. The imp will be lost if the player dies in the Wilderness and it is not one of the protected items.

By default, the imp will simply collect charms that have been dropped. Every time a charm is picked up a message states "The charming imp finds a [type] charm and puts it in your inventory."

The charming imp is an item, not a follower. Additionally, he can be equipped in the pocket slot to save an inventory space. The charming imp can also be added to the tool belt if a player spends 500 slayer points to learn how at any slayer master. The configuration settings may still be changed by opening up the tool belt in this case.

Alternatively, similar to the bonecrusher automatically yielding Prayer experience and herbicide yielding Herblore experience, the charming imp will convert unwanted charms into Summoning experience if the player chooses the option.

For players with low Summoning levels, it is recommended to have the imp collect all charms (except special), since summoning pouches give plenty of experience compared to having the imp exchange it for low quantities of experience. Players with higher Summoning levels can have the imp convert gold and green charms into experience, as the majority of the experience gained at higher levels comes from crimson and blue charms. Crimson, blue and elder charms should never be converted for experience.

A player may right-click on the imp and select Configure, opening a dialogue for options on which charms the player chooses to have the imp automatically collect or convert to experience. The charming imp will NOT work on charms received through LootShare.

By configuring the imp, a player may choose either of the two options (selecting the option will change the imp to that setting):

  • "You can keep ... charms." results in the imp automatically sending the charms to the player's inventory.

  • "I want the ... charms." results in the imp converting any dropped charms into experience.

A charming imp will convert every...

  • Gold charm into 4 experience

  • Green charm into 8 experience

  • Crimson charm into 12 experience

  • Blue charm into 16 experience

  • Elder charm into 20 experience

  • Talon beast charm into 6 experience

  • Abyssal charm into 6.5 experience

  • Obsidian charm into 6 experience

  • Spirit dragon charm into 6 experience
